S.T.E.A.M Workshop

Maker’s Clubhouse

June 04, 2021

On June 4, 2021, Mikael Owunna hosted an inspiring youth community STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) workshop at Maker's Clubhouse for 12 middle school students from Homewood. During this interactive session, Owunna introduced the students to African cosmologies, providing a rich cultural and scientific foundation. He shared the creative inspirations behind his acclaimed Infinite Essence series, giving the students unique insights into his artistic process. The highlight of the workshop was a hands-on exercise where Owunna guided the students in creating their own Infinite Essence-inspired artworks. This engaging experience not only fostered creativity but also helped the students connect with the profound themes of African cosmology through the lens of STEAM education.
