Ariel Barreiro
Ariel Barreiro is a STEM and non-profit consultant, a vocalist, and a writer. She authored the foremost article on terminator zones through The Planetary Society and has been published in the University of Pittsburgh’s science magazine “The Pitt Pulse” twice, once as a cover feature. She sits as the co-chair for the community engagement committee for the Zed Factor Fellowship of which she was a fellow in the class of 2023. She held a two year residency as a lounge singer at a former casual fine dining restaurant in Shadyside and was operatically trained at the Creative and Performing Arts High School of Pittsburgh, CAPA.
She recently completed a DEI certificate program at Pitt to support her efforts to fight for equity in STEM fields. Ariel is also the director of a small project, Mom Loves You to the Moon and Back (MLYMAB), which aims to support mothers returning to the workforce or pursuing secondary education for the first time to find their way into fulfilling aerospace careers. The project also provides information on non-STEM careers within the aerospace sector to students and mothers alike.
