Jordan Cowan
Born in Birmingham, Alabama, and raised in Jacksonville, Florida, Jordan Cowan started dancing in high school as a dancer on the hip-hop dance team with his friends, which led him to dancing with local pre-professional dance companies in Jacksonville. Eager to learn more about dance, Cowan matriculated at Alabama State University (ASU), where he started his formal training at the age of 22 in Ballet, Modern (Horton), Jazz, African, Hip-Hop, & Improvisation. Under the direction of Micheal Medcalf, James Aktinson, Lindsay Renea Benton, Jerome Stigler, and Kavin T. Grant, Cowan received his BFA in dance in Spring 2019. After graduation, Cowan joined Garth Fagan Dance from 2019-2021. Cowan has worked with other artists, such as Pj Pennewell, Raianna Brown, Dewitt Cooper, Savery Morgan, Jennifer Davis, Theater West Virginia, and Super Bowl LV 2021 with R&B/pop singer The Weeknd. Cowan is now based in Atlanta.
