Prayers Answered by Mikael Owunna is an installation commissioned by the University City Science Center and The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage for the Futures Without Guns exhibit, curated by Angela McQuillan. This poignant piece represents two individuals who lost their lives to gun violence, depicted in a state of prayer for a future that values unity and peace. The exhibition highlighted sociopolitical issues affecting Philadelphia and invited community members impacted by gun violence to share their stories, which shaped the creative processes of the participating artists.
